I Am Here For You, If You'd Only Care

I was writing this entry last night but there was a storm and the internet went out. Greg posted this song so I downloaded it and... man. It hit me. It made me think stupid things. I hate that. I can't stop listening to it.

I was having a really good conversation last night with someone I wish I knew better. Of course, in the middle of it the internet went out. Everyone's talking about loneliness. Blady blah... I've rarely not felt lonely so...?

An image that keeps coming to mind is the part in the Shrek karaoke where the beheader sings "feelings..." ha.

I'm sick.

"Goodbye My Lover" -James Blunt

Did I disappoint you or let you down?
Should I be feeling guilty
or let the judges frown?
'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun,
Yes I saw you were blind and I knew I had won.

So I took what's mine by eternal right.
Took your soul out into the night.
It may be over but it won't stop there,

I am here for you if you'd only care.

You touched my heart you touched my soul.
You changed my life and all my goals.

And love is blind but then I knew it,
My heart was blinded by you.

I've kissed your lips and held your head.
Shared your dreams and shared your bed.

I know you well, I know your smell.
I've been addicted to you.

Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.(2x)

I am a dreamer and when I wake,
You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take.
And as you move on, remember me,
Remember us and all we used to be

I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile.
I've watched you sleeping for a while.
I'd be the father of your child.
I'd spend a lifetime with you.

I know your fears and you know mine.
We've had our doubts
but now we're fine,
And I love you, I swear that's true.
I cannot live without you.

Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.(2x)

And I still hold your hand in mine.
In mine when I'm asleep.
And I will bear my soul in time,
When I'm kneeling at your feet.

Goodbye my lover
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.

You have been the one for me.(2x)

I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow.
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.(X2)

I got this in an email from the lovely Mary...

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Mr. Common Sense.  Mr. Sense had been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such value lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn't always fair.  Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parentingstrategies (adults, not kids, are in charge).
His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. - Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Mr. Sense declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student; but, could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, she spilled a bit in her lap, and was awarded a huge financial settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.
He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights and Ima Whiner.  Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on; if not, join the majority and do nothing.

I liked it all except that Ten Commandments part. I'm one of those crazy non-Christians living in America. You know, I was thinking about that yesterday too. I told a couple people at work that I wasn't a Christian. They were surprised. One lady told me not to "sadden her heart". How is that even remotely... polite? I don't believe something you do. It would be "weird" for someone to act that way when finding out they were a Christian. "Oh, that's so sad... I'll mediate for you." Or if they found out they were not, say, Buddhist. "You're not a Buddhist?! Are you Hindu?... Hm..." It's just silly. How did this whole religion thing get so out of hand?
